micro four thirds for nature photography

I have been working on a series of articles over at SmallCameraBigPicture.com about using Micro Four Thirds (MFT) gear for hybrid nature photography. If you’re not familiar with SCBP you should definitely check it out. It is all about making great photos and videos with mirrorless cameras.

I’ve been using Micro Four Thirds (MFT) cameras exclusively for almost a year now. I have put them through all of the same situations that I have had my full-frame DSLR’s in for years, and I have been pleasantly surprised by the image quality from these small machines. The future of MFT looks brighter all the time. I think the “arms race” between Olympus and Panasonic has pushed MFT technology farther in a shorter amount of time than other formats. They know that they have to blow customers away with each new generation or they will just buy the other brand… without having to buy all new lenses!

Anyway, these articles are a summary of the tools I use for hybrid nature photography as of May 2013. Who knows what tools are around the corner next week, next month or next year?!

Part 1: Micro Four Thirds Advantages

Part 2: Hardware Choices

Part 3: Accessories
