The nice folks at the Georgia Nature Photographers Association invited me down to Tybee Island on the GA coast for their annual Expo. The Expo is four days (although Sunday got rained out) of speakers, shooting and visiting. Adam Jones was the keynote speaker. He presented his beautiful nature photography and lots of good tips on Saturday. Marti Jeffers gave a great presentation about artistic nature photography, and I taught a Lightroom breakout session on organizing and optimizing photos.
The weather held out for the most part, but it was not ideal. The overcast weather on Saturday actually made capturing beach scenes a bit easier. The lower contrast makes for an easy exposure, but you usually want to leave the cloudy sky out of the photos.
If you’re down this way you should definitely check out the GNPA. They are a friendly bunch of folks, and they’re always ready to shoot, share and have a good time!
The above hybrid eScape was shot with a Panasonic GH3 camera, then produced using Lightroom 4, ProShow Web and Photoshop CS6.
Enjoyed you breakout at GNPA. I’m working on my pictures. Can you email me the White balance graphic (or where to get it) to place in my Identity Plate. Thanks. Hope you here you speak again.
Thanks Mary,
I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’m sending you that file now…
