Rob is an Olympus Educator, a Tenba Visual Artist, and GNARBOX Pro ambassador. He is an Adobe Certified Expert in Photoshop Lightroom, and a two-time finalist for the National Association of Photoshop Professional’s “Photoshop Guru” award.

Rob is best known for his destination photo workshops, his easy-going teaching style and his informative critiques. He enjoys teaching in a classroom setting, but his passion is teaching and exploring with students on location. Rob began leading photo workshops in 2009 with a focus on nature and wildlife photography.

Welcome to a new kind of photo workshop…

This would usually be the time of year when I’m getting ready for next year’s destination photograpy workshops, but most of my clients have told me that they just aren’t ready for international travel.

I’ve come up with a way to bring some of the best features of an in-person photography workshop to you.

I know there are a lot of options available for online training, but this is more than just another webinar. There are going to be some components you’re familiar with, but this virtual photography workshop is a whole new interactive experience designed to help you master your OM-D camera and create nature images you’ll be proud of.

The workshop will begin with online presentations designed to teach you specific skills you need for wildlife photography. We’ll discuss things like exposure modes and auto focus settings, flash settings for wildlife, and more. We will dive in to the advanced features of the OM-D camera system to get you up to speed on all the bells and whistles. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and interact with me and your fellow workshop participants during the event. Since the workshop is limited to 15 participants, you will have plenty of time to participate without being lost in a sea of other photographers. After each webinar you will have photography assignments designed to demonstrate and reinforce the skills that you’ve learned. Each session will be recorded so you can refer to the videos at any time during and after the event.

A client told me a few years ago that the best part of a photo workshop is what happens between the shoots. The connection we make with other photographers and the exchange of ideas are often the most memorable moments of a workshop on location. In order to foster that experience during this event, your tuition includes exclusive access to a private community for you and the other workshop participants. This community will begin with the assignments and challenges associated with your workshop materials, but it will become whatever you and your colleagues make it! This is a place for you to get feedback, share ideas, and build friendships around your shared love of photography.

Along with access to classes and the exclusive online community, you will be able to participate in a trip to Costa Rica in real time! You will join me for live discussions, questions, and demonstrations while I’m on location in Costa Rica.

While I’m there I will be recording additional lessons that will be added to the curriculum when I return. You will have your own remote controlled camera in Costa Rica! If there are specific shots, settings, or features you’re interested in, you have the opportunity to discuss them with me in real time.

After the trip, we will meet for live sessions where I will edit my photos in Lightroom Classic. You can see exactly how I choose, organize, and edit my images. I think this is a great way to learn Lightroom using real-world examples. You will also have the opportunity to submit images for me to edit during a special presentation of student images from the event.

Throughout the workshop you will receive guidance to help you build a cohesive portfolio of nature images. While you’re learning the ins and outs of your camera, I will be helping you shoot, edit, and choose images that reflect your proficiency and your personal style. Every attendee will receive a private portfolio review with me, plus the opportunity to discuss your images with your fellow attendees along the way in your private online community.

I believe the 15 hours of interactive lessons alone would be worth the price of admission. When you add the exclusive access to your own online community and the small group environment, I think it is a bargain! Join me for this unique interactive event to master your OM-D camera and take your nature and wildlife photography to the next level.
